The Firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys in our Nashville, Tennessee office.  The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates must have 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal. Experience working in medical malpractice is preferred but not required. Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and communicate between internal and external third parties 
  • Gather, organize, and maintain relevant information from sources through subpoenas or written requests (ex: medical records, employment records, etc.) and ensure proper indexing and filing of documents in files and case management software
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents as requested by supervising attorney(s)
  • Perform administrative duties for supervising attorney(s), such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, opening/organizing/closing case files, reviewing, scanning, and emailing the daily mail
  • Compile information for potential lay and expert witnesses, involving trial preparation, trial exhibits, coordination of witnesses, preparation meetings, and conduct jury panel research as needed
  • Record, either periodically or regularly, billable time (as appropriate)
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor(s) 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the legal assistant or paralegal field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload
