Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Production Operator - 1st Shift at our Mundelein, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this entry-level manufacturing role, you will operate assigned equipment, inspect parts for quality, make basic adjustments, and complete production documentation while building foundational knowledge of production processes.

  • Location: Mundelein, IL

  • Work Arrangement: On-site

  • Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-3:30 PM

  • Pay: $19.50/hour

  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

  • Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do as a Production Operator

  • Operate assigned production equipment according to established work instructions and procedures.

  • Monitor equipment during operation and inspect parts and finished products to help ensure consistent production and quality.

  • Perform basic equipment adjustments and troubleshooting, referring more complex equipment or production issues to appropriate operators or supervisors.

  • Use basic measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product dimensions.

  • Read and follow basic blueprints, work instructions, and process documentation as required.

  • Record production information accurately and complete required documentation.

  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with 5S standards and follow applicable safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

  • Identify and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards, and support material handling or other production activities as needed.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • No formal education requirement.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment operation.

  • Basic math and measurement skills, including the ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools.

  • Ability to perform routine production work and basic troubleshooting under general supervision.

  • Developing knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and quality requirements.

  • Basic recordkeeping and blueprint or diagram-reading skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 to 12 months of manufacturing or production experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This role involves standing and walking for extended periods during the shift.

  • Employees in this role frequently bend, reach, and handle materials or parts.

  • The position requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds as required.

  • This role is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.

  • Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment and handle production components.

  • Visual acuity is required to inspect parts and finished products.
