Build What’s Next.

At WATT Fuel Cell, we’re building technology that matters, and we’re looking for hands-on, mechanically minded people who want to be part of how it gets built.

As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll work directly with our fuel cell products and components through various stages of production, assembly, testing, and inspection. Depending on your experience, training, and production needs, you may work within Cell Production, Cell Test, Rail & Stack, System Assembly, or Systems.

This isn’t a stand-back-and-watch role. You’ll be building, testing, troubleshooting, learning, and solving problems alongside Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, assemble, produce, and/or test fuel cell products and components.
  • Use hand tools, fixtures, production machinery, testing equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Perform inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Recognize and communicate quality, equipment, material, or process issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and process adjustments within your training and authorization.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions, SOPs, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Accurately complete production records, travelers, checklists, and inventory transactions.
  • Handle, stage, and move materials and components throughout production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow PPE, equipment safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures when applicable.
  • Cross-train in different areas of manufacturing as your skills and knowledge grow.
  • Participate in training, continuous improvement, and process improvement activities.

Where You Could Work

One Manufacturing Technician title. Multiple opportunities to learn our process.

Cell Production | Cell Test | Rail & Stack | System Assembly | Systems

Your specific assignment will depend on your experience, training, strengths, and current production needs. As you develop, you may have opportunities to cross-train and gain experience across multiple areas of our manufacturing operation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are curious about how things work and take pride in figuring out how to make them work better.

  • Mechanically minded – You’re comfortable working with tools, equipment, components, and your hands.
  • Detail-oriented – Quality matters, and you pay attention to the details that can make a difference.
  • Problem-solver – When something doesn’t look or work right, you want to understand why.
  • Accountable – You take ownership of your work and follow through.
  • Adaptable – You’re comfortable learning new processes and moving where the team needs you.
  • Team-focused – You communicate, ask questions, and work well with people across different functions.
  • Safety-minded – You understand that getting the job done right also means getting it done safely.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, testing, mechanical, or technical experience preferred.
  • Experience in fuel cell, electronics, automotive, aerospace, energy, or another technical manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort using hand tools, measuring devices, production equipment, and basic computer systems.
  • Most importantly, a willingness to learn, ask questions, and continue building your skills.

What to Expect

This is an active, hands-on manufacturing position. You’ll spend much of your day standing or walking and working directly with components, tools, machinery, and testing equipment. Depending on your assignment, the work may involve repetitive motions, bending, reaching, lifting or moving materials, and working within a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.

Required PPE and established safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Why WATT?

We’re a team of builders, problem-solvers, and doers working together to push clean energy technology forward. We move quickly, we solve problems together, and we expect people to take ownership of their work.

You’ll be surrounded by people who challenge you, support you, and help you get better at what you do.

If you want a role where you can work with your hands, build technical skills, solve real problems, and see the results of your work, we’d like to meet you.
