  • Experience in embedded systems, operating systems, and power processing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with mobile phone SOCs and subsystems including CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem and wifi.
  • Experience with optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
  • Experience working with embedded processors, Android BSP, kernel, drivers.
  • Knowledge of embedded software system design.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive power optimizations on mobile phone SOCs.
  • Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC features and initiatives to improve power.
  • Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem and connectivity.
  • Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption. Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
  • Collaborate with Android and app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
