Analysts in the Pennymac Corporate University (PCU) Rotational Program embark on a 12-month development experience designed to immerse them in various business functions across the enterprise before transitioning into a full-time, high-impact role. Candidates have the opportunity to specialize in one of three tracks: Capital Markets & Financial Analytics, Operational Analytics & Business Intelligence, or Strategic Initiatives & Enterprise Operations.
The PCU Rotational Program begins with an intensive 3-week cohort onboarding focused on executive engagement, industry and market insights, and technical skill-building. Participants then complete two 6-month departmental rotations, blending classroom knowledge with real-world execution. Upon successful completion of the 12-month program, analysts are placed into full-time roles aligned with their track, skills, and business needs.

- Southern California: Westlake Village, Simi Valley (Greater Los Angeles Area)
- Texas: Fort Worth, Carrollton (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex)
- Florida Relocation Path: We are also hiring for a path starting in California, followed by a permanent move to Tampa, Florida.
The Financial Analyst I, Pennymac Corporate University will:
- Participate in a structured rotational program including departments in a variety of areas, such as Finance, Capital Markets, Treasury, Mortgage Fulfillment, Enterprise Risk Management, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources and more.
- Analyze complex, unstructured financial and operational datasets to generate actionable business insights, risk models, and executive recommendations.
- Leverage modern AI tools (e.g., Cursor AI, Amazon Quick, Gemini) and Python/SQL scripts to automate legacy workflows, build dynamic dashboards, and optimize reporting pipelines.
- Lead and support high-impact cross-functional initiatives, managing timelines, risk frameworks, and deliverables to support enterprise transformation.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on industry trends, rate sensitivities, and regulatory shifts impacting mortgage and capital markets.
- Prepare and present structured findings, financial models, and strategic dashboards to leadership.
- Identify operational bottlenecks, map end-to-end workflows, and implement scalable, tech-enabled solutions across host departments.
- Display an eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute across two 6-month departmental assignments while maintaining alignment with Pennymac’s core values.
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Must graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related quantitative/business discipline.
- Must graduate prior to the program start date (July 12, 2027) or have graduated within 18 months of the program start date.
- GPA: 3.3+ for operational/strategic tracks; 3.5+ for quantitative/capital markets tracks is preferred.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with modern AI tools (Cursor AI, Amazon Quick, Gemini, etc.)
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with modern data & analytics tools: SQL, Python, Excel (Advanced Modeling/Automation), Tableau, Power BI, or Snowflake.
- Ability to apply structured, data-driven logic to solve ambiguous, complex business problems.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical/financial concepts for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Highly adaptable, self-motivated, and eager to learn new domain areas and software platforms under tight deadlines.

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
