We are looking for a skilled Chassis Fabricator to join our team and support the fabrication, assembly, and repair of chassis components and vehicles. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that quality is in the details and enjoys solving problems, working from engineering specifications, and collaborating with others to turn designs into finished components.

Job Summary
The Chassis Fabricator is responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing chassis components and motor vehicles for both the team and consumers. This role requires a deep understanding of fabrication techniques, exceptional welding skills, and a keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality, precise workmanship. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver, capable of collaborating with engineers and team members to optimize designs and maintain a safe, efficient workspace.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform welding processes including MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW).
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair chassis components and related structures using welding, grinding, and other metalworking techniques.
  • Operate and maintain fabrication machinery, including tubing notches, tubing benders, drill presses, band saws, and other relevant tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to construct chassis components to exact standards.
  • Measure, cut, and shape materials to ensure accurate fit and assembly.
  • Perform welding and assembly of chassis components using appropriate tools, techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout fabrication to verify conformance with specifications, tolerances, and team standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues while suggesting improvements to enhance manufacturability and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize designs for functionality, durability, and ease of assembly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Assist in inventory management of materials, tools, and parts used in fabrication.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication processes, efficiency, and quality.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and measure with precision, including use of tape measures and micrometers.

 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience as a Chassis Fabricator or in a similar fabrication role is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with welding and various metal fabrication techniques.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Capacity to work in a physically demanding environment, including moving around vehicles, tools, and parts.
