Automotive BDC Team Leader

Stivers Ford Lincoln of Montgomery is looking for a motivated, competitive, and performance-driven Automotive BDC Team Leader to help lead our Business Development Center.
This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who can coach and develop BDRs, maintain accountability, monitor performance, and lead by example.
The right person understands that a successful BDC isn't about simply completing calls, texts, emails, and CRM tasks. It's about creating quality conversations, building rapport, overcoming objections, setting appointments, and ultimately getting customers into the dealership.
What You'll Do
As a BDC Team Leader, you'll work with BDC and dealership management to keep the department organized, accountable, and focused on performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Coach, develop, and motivate BDC Representatives
- Monitor daily BDR activity and performance
- Review calls, texts, emails, and CRM follow-up for quality
- Conduct call reviews and one-on-one coaching
- Help BDRs improve rapport building and objection handling
- Ensure new leads are responded to quickly and professionally
- Monitor lead response times and follow-up activity
- Identify missed opportunities within the CRM
- Monitor appointment sets, confirmations, shows, and sold customers
- Help improve appointment-setting and show percentages
- Ensure CRM notes are accurate and meaningful
- Make sure follow-up is personalized and relevant to the customer's inquiry
- Assist BDRs with difficult customers and challenging objections
- Help train and onboard new BDC Representatives
- Communicate performance issues and opportunities to BDC management
- Work with the sales team and management to ensure a smooth customer handoff
- Help maintain consistent processes throughout the department
- Keep the team focused on daily, weekly, and monthly goals
- Recognize strong performance while addressing underperformance
- Step in and work leads or phone calls when necessary
- Lead by example and maintain a positive, competitive environment

This is a performance-driven position. The BDC Team Leader will be expected to understand, monitor, and improve key performance indicators, including:
- Lead response time
- Contact rate
- Appointment-setting percentage
- Appointment show rate
- Sold appointments
- CRM follow-up compliance
- Call quality
- Customer experience
- Individual BDR performance
- Overall team productivity
- BDC contribution to dealership sales
The Team Leader should understand why the numbers are performing the way they are—not simply report them.

Preferred Experience
Automotive experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience in:
- Automotive BDC
- Internet sales
- Automotive sales
- BDC leadership
- Call center leadership
- CRM management
- Appointment setting
- Customer service leadership
Previous leadership experience is preferred, but we will consider a high-performing BDR or automotive salesperson who demonstrates strong leadership ability and is ready for the next step in their career.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-dealership position.
Candidates should have schedule flexibility based on dealership operating hours, including the ability to work Saturdays and other high-volume sales periods as required.
Specific schedule expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience and performance.
Compensation may include a combination of guaranteed/base compensation and performance-based incentives.
Performance incentives may be based on individual and/or department results, including appointment performance, show performance, sold appointments, departmental goals, and other established performance metrics.
