  • Candidates must possess a BS degree in Chemistry or a related field, and previous lab experience is preferred for higher levels, while those without experience will start at Technician I.

  • Strong MS Office skills and excellent communication abilities are essential, along with good organizational skills.
  • The salary for this position starts at $50,000 per year, and candidates should ideally have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Job Responsibilities: The Technician will be involved in every aspect of operation of the organic chemistry department including but not limited to sample preparation, sample analysis, method development, data quality review, training personnel, maintaining instrumentation, etc. Major responsibilities will include the preparation and analysis of a variety of extracted samples and matrices such as organic based matrices, minerals and raw products, environmental and industrial hygiene samples, etc. Candidates with no previous lab experience will start at the Technician I level working mainly with sample preparation.
 
Qualifications and Requirements: 
  • BS degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Experience with solvent extraction techniques
  • Experience with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM preparation and analysis methods and protocols
  • Strong MS Office applications experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to perform efficiently multiple tasks
  • Working experience with instruments such as GC-FID, GC-ECD, GC-MS, FTIR or HPLC will be a plus
  • Experience with instrument maintenance and repair will be a plus
  • The position could require working after normal business hours
