Serving as a senior technical resource and subject-matter expert for assigned core and enterprise applications, this position develops secure technology solutions, automates processes, supports system implementations and integrations, resolves production issues, and helps ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the Credit Union’s technology environment. Essential Responsibilities # Essential responsibility and representative duties 1 Software Development and Integration Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains secure applications, APIs, SDK-based solutions, interfaces, scripts, reports, and other solutions supporting the core banking platform and enterprise applications. Follows established development, security, testing, source-control, change-management, and documentation standards. 2 Core and Enterprise Application Support Serves as a senior technical resource for assigned applications. Configures, maintains, troubleshoots, and optimizes system functionality, workflows, interfaces, and security. Evaluates business requirements and proposed changes, coordinates testing and approvals, implements configurations and enhancements, and resolves complex issues with internal partners and vendors. 3 Data and Reporting Solutions Develops and maintains SQL queries, reports, extracts, database functions, scripts, and secure data exchanges. Performs data analysis, reconciliation, and validation to support operational, financial, regulatory, audit, and management reporting while ensuring data accuracy and completeness 4 Production Processing and Job Scheduling Oversight Plans and monitors scheduled core and enterprise application processing, investigates exceptions, and coordinates resolution. Leads business requirements, testing, validation, development, and implementation of new or modified jobs with internal resources and technology partners to ensure processing meets operational needs. 5 Automation and Process Improvement Analyzes systems, applications, and business processes to identify and implement automation, integration, and enhancement opportunities that strengthen controls, improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and enhance employee and member experiences 6 Technical Project Leadership Provides technical leadership for system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and development initiatives. Translates business requirements into technical solutions; identifies risks and dependencies; coordinates resources, vendors, testing, and issue resolution; and communicates project status. 7 Documentation, Controls, and Compliance Maintains application configurations, program documentation, data mappings, system diagrams, processing procedures, support materials, and change records. Supports access reviews, audits, examinations, disaster-recovery testing, business continuity, and other technology control requirements. 8 Technical Support Provides help-desk and end-user support as needed, including troubleshooting approved hardware, software, applications, access, and peripheral devices. Documents work performed and escalates issues requiring additional expertise or vendor assistance. 9 Vendor, Asset, and Operational Support Supports technology vendor and asset management, administrative activities, audits, access reviews, disaster-recovery testing, issue escalation, and departmental operations. 10 Technical Leadership and Mentoring Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members, reviews scripts and automation workflows, and supports ongoing technology and process improvements. QualificationsQualifications Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Software Engineering (or similar field) required, equivalent experience, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and maintaining software, preferably within the financial services industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience in in SQL coding, including writing queries, techniques, and terminology A minimum of 5 years of experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Restful APIs, and AJAX. Experience in leading solution delivery efforts in an agile environment with extensive working knowledge of test-driven development (TDD), component-based development (CBD), and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) and DevSecOps practices. Hands-on experience with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Zoho, Confluence, Microsoft DevOps), Git, Postman, SSO, OAuth, cloud (AWS and Azure) services, and relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of front-end frameworks like React, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc. Ability to use RESTful and SOAP APIs, and different data formats (JSON, XML). Expertise with Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems. Basic knowledge of troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Familiarity with ITIL practices or similar frameworks. Demonstrated experience using web software APIs is required. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies. Experience responding to security questionnaires and customer questions. Professional and effective interaction, verbal, and written communication skills.
