Job DetailsJob Location: Monroe, MI 48162Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Strategy - Planning DEPARTMENT Strategy & Innovation REPORTS TO VP, Strategy & Innovation FLSA STATUS Exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS Full-Time SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No direct reports WORK LOCATION Main JOB GRADE 9 EFFECTIVE / REVISED 09/2026   Position Summary The Project Coordinator supports the successful execution of enterprise projects that advance the Credit Union’s strategic goals, operational effectiveness, member experience, and growth. Working collaboratively with internal and external project partners, this role coordinates project plans, timelines, resources, budgets, risks, requirements, testing, deliverables, and status reporting. The position helps keep technology implementations, vendor integrations, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives on time, within scope, and within budget. Essential Responsibilities # Essential responsibility and representative duties 1 Project Planning and Execution Develops and manages project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, budgets, risks, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.  Coordinates enterprise projects from initial planning through implementation, stabilization, closeout, and postmortem reviews. This work includes bringing on new technologies, vendor onboarding and integration, automation, product, process, and operational initiatives. 2 Project Coordination Coordinates cross-functional project activities, meetings, resources, schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and deliverables.  Prepares agendas and supporting materials; documents decisions, action items, owners, and deadlines; monitors progress; and escalates delays, risks, and roadblocks to appropriate project leaders. Prepared project status reports, dashboards, and leadership materials, and maintains project documentation, repositories, lessons learned, templated, and governance standards.  3 Requirements and Process Improvement Coordinates discovery and requirements-gathering activities and documents business, operational, technical, compliance, reporting, and vendor needs.  Evaluates current and future processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and supports testing, implementation, adoption, and ongoing ownership. 4 Risk, Budget, Change, and Vendor Management Maintains project risk, issue, dependency, decision, and change documentation.  Tracks budgets, invoices, commitments, forecasts, vendor deliverables, testing, approvals, and contractual milestones.  Documents and escalates potential impacts to scope, schedule, resources, budget, employees, members, and project outcomes. 5 Collaboration and Professional Development Builds effective relationships with internal and external project partners while promoting communication, accountability, and consistent project management practices.  Maintains relevant professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and industry involvement. QualificationsQualifications Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, finance, project management, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, and industry-recognized professional certifications. Experience:  Minimum of three years of progressively responsible project coordination or project management experience, including responsibility for project schedules, requirements, risks, action items, stakeholders, vendors, budgets, and deliverables. Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional technology, system implementation, product, operational, automation, or process improvement projects involving multiple departments and external vendors. Working knowledge of project management practices across the project lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, requirements gathering, execution, monitoring, testing, implementation, stabilization, documentation, and closeout. Knowledge of Agile project delivery principles and experience working with, or the ability to support the Credit Union’s transition toward, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, Kanban, or comparable Agile and hybrid project delivery practices. Experience maintaining project plans, schedules, resource assignments, risk and issue logs, decision logs, change records, budgets, meeting documentation, status reports, and project repositories. Ability to gather, clarify, document, and organize business, operational, technical, reporting, compliance, and vendor requirements. Ability to coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, document decisions and action items, and track owners and due dates. Ability to monitor project progress, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, and competing priorities and communicate concerns to the supervisor and project leaders. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and project management, portfolio management, Agile work management, reporting, documentation, workflow, and Kanban tools, such as Microsoft Project, Planner, Teams, SharePoint, Visio, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Zoho Projects, Monday.com, Asana, or comparable platforms. Preferred Experience working for a credit union, community bank, fintech organization, or another regulated financial institution.  Experience supporting a core processing conversion, digital banking conversion, enterprise system implementation, or other large-scale organizational transformation.  Project management or Agile certification or formal training, such as CAPM, PMP, SAFe certification, Certified ScrumMaster, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, or an equivalent credential. Experience coordinating financial technology integrations involving third-party vendors, interfaces, data conversion, reports, forms, testing, training, implementation readiness, and post-launch stabilization.
