Hard Top Cut & Cap – Lamination Department 

Department: Lamination

Reports To: Small Parts Lamination Manager 
Position Type: Full-Time 

Position Summary 

The Hard Top Cut & Cap team member is responsible for cutting, trimming, preparing, and capping fiberglass hard tops according to Sea Fox quality and production standards. This position requires attention to detail, safe operation of cutting and grinding equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced boat manufacturing environment. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Cut and trim fiberglass hard tops according to established specifications and cut lines. 

  • Use grinders, saws, routers, and other pneumatic or power tools safely and effectively. 

  • Remove excess fiberglass and material from molded hard tops. 

  • Grind and prepare edges and surfaces for the capping process. 

  • Fit, bond, and cap hard top components to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity. 

  • Apply fiberglass, resin, adhesives, putty, or other materials as required during the capping process. 

  • Inspect completed work for proper fit, finish, dimensions, and overall quality. 

  • Identify and correct minor fiberglass defects when necessary. 

  • Follow established work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards. 

  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining workmanship standards. 

  • Properly handle and maintain tools, equipment, molds, and materials. 

  • Follow all PPE requirements and safety procedures when working with fiberglass, resin, chemicals, and power tools. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. 

  • Properly dispose of fiberglass waste, resin materials, and other production debris. 

  • Communicate quality, material, equipment, or safety concerns to the Lamination Supervisor. 

  • Assist other members of the Lamination Department as production needs require. 

  • Perform other duties assigned by management. 

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Previous fiberglass, lamination, boat manufacturing, construction, or similar manufacturing experience preferred. 

  • Experience using grinders, saws, routers, sanders, and pneumatic tools preferred. 

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications. 

  • Strong attention to detail and quality. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. 

  • Dependable attendance and ability to maintain expected production pace. 

  • Willingness to learn Sea Fox manufacturing and quality standards. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods. 

  • Ability to regularly bend, reach, kneel, climb, push, and pull. 

  • Ability to lift and/or move materials and components as required by the position. 

  • Ability to work around fiberglass dust, resin, adhesives, chemicals, noise, and manufacturing equipment while wearing required PPE. 

  • Ability to wear safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and other required protective equipment.
