SBA Home North Carolina - The first production facility in the USA by SBA Group, a furniture manufacturer from EU member in Lithuania, with operations started in late 2025. Over 250 talented professionals will work here and build their careers. It will be a highly robotic and automated factory with products reaching millions of homes in the US. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Davie County, NC. The Maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of maintenance operations. This individual will oversee equipment maintenance while directly managing a team of Maintenance technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Maintenance operations, ensuring reliable and safe functioning of equipment.

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on highly automated furniture manufacturing equipment: conveyors, chain and belt drives, edge banders, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drilling units, press and vacuum mechanisms, mechanical components of robotic cells, laminating and coating lines and others.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize production downtime.
    • Monitor machine reliability, equipment condition, and maintenance KPIs.
    • Support optimization of machine availability, reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
    • Support Automation activities - from troubleshooting to maintenance (servo-driven) and machine commissioning, upgrades, and equipment modifications.
    • Execute preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
    • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, and maintenance efficiency.
    • Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records within the CMMS/SAP maintenance system.
    • Prepare technical reports following significant equipment failures.
    • Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
    • Develop and lead a team of electricians and mechanics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field preferred).
  • 3+ years of maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (woodworking industry experience preferred).
  • Experience maintaining HOMAG, BÜRKLE, or similar automated production equipment is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical power transmission, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and vacuum systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using CMMS or SAP maintenance systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Experience supervising maintenance personnel, preferably shift electricians and mechanics.
