JOB TITLE: Alumni Engagement Student Intern
LOCATION(S): Minneapolis & St. Paul
PAY RATE: $16.50
Reporting to the Alumni Engagement Officer, the Alumni Engagement Student Intern is responsible for event coordination, alumni communication management, and assistance with broad alumni engagement as part of the Strategic Engagement Team. This position directly supports the Alumni Team’s events throughout the year including Alumni Board Meetings, the Christmas Luncheon, Pregame Socials, Watch Parties, Alumni Volunteer Week, the St. Thomas Day Awards, and St. Thomas Night with the Twins. This position will work closely with the Alumni Engagement Team on the Minneapolis Campus to deliver a seamless and responsive experience for the broad alumni population.
Event Assistance %40
- Pre Event
- Manage registration
- Research event venues
- Manage event materials(banners, tablecloths, swag, nametags, etc.)
- Develop event surveys
- Day of Event
- Assist with set up and tear down
- Manage registration table
- Serve as student speaker if appropriate
- Take event pictures
- Post Event
- Compile survey results
- Assist with event follow-up communications
- Note: Key events include:
- September 26th (Homecoming)
- November 10th (Tommie Give Day)
- December 4th (Alumni and Friends Christmas Luncheon)
- May 5th (St. Thomas Day)
Alumni Communications: Manage Voicemail and Email Inbox %40
- Reply to general inquiries
- Provide detailed event information to constituents
- Forward messages and voicemails to appropriate parties
- Work with DEV Data team to update alumni information
General Duties %20
- Research and benchmarking alumni programming
- Alumni Tours as requested
- Work with campus partners on alumni events and data
- Organize and count inventory
- Pull detailed reports of alumni data
- Assist with event promotion to students and/or alumni
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enthusiasm for engaging with alumni and representing the university
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends based on event schedule
- Previous experience in customer service, administration, data analysis, or event support is a plus, but not required
