Job DetailsJob Location: Milledgeville - Milledgeville, GA 31061Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Category: EducationThe Assistant Director of Academic Records supports the Academic Records Director in the day-to-day operational management of the department, helping ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of all students’ academic records. The Assistant Director supervises and develops Academic Records staff, manages daily workflows and resource assignments within priorities established by the Director, and helps implement departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements that support enrollment, retention, student success, and institutional effectiveness. The Assistant Director serves as a key resource for academic records, transfer credit, degree evaluations, and student information systems, and represents the department in the Director's absence. Primary Responsibilities:  Supports the Director in the operational direction of Academic Records by managing day-to-day resource assignments, monitoring performance metrics, identifying operational risks, and improving workflows within departmental priorities established by the Director.  Assists with recruitment and onboarding, and leads day-to-day supervision, coaching, mentoring, performance management, professional development, and cross-training for Academic Records staff. Assists in developing and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training programs, and quality standards under the Director's direction. Serves as a resource for academic records, transfer evaluations, graduation processing, and regulatory compliance questions Supports quality assurance, compliance monitoring, internal controls, and audit readiness to help ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of student records and compliance with FERPA, accreditation standards, and institutional policies Participates in cross-functional collaboration with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Information Technology, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, Admissions, Advising, and faculty to help implement institutional initiatives and improve operational effectiveness *Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.  Georgia Military College is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. QualificationsMinimum: Associate's Degree or higher 2 years or more of experience in higher education with supervision experience Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, supporting policy implementation, coaching and developing staff, and monitoring data governance, quality assurance, and compliance, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to train and manage staff. Ability to follow through on tasks and meet deadlines. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with 3 or more years of experience. Three to four (3–4+) years of experience in higher education or in Academic Records, Registrar Operations, Enrollment Services, or a related area, including academic record/registrar and supervisory experience Knowledge of the Colleague Student Information System and Perceptive Software. Familiar with GMC Policies and Procedures
