What You’ll Do

JOB PURPOSE

Supervises Quality Assurance Administration activities that support the effectiveness and compliance of the Quality Management System. Ensures consistent execution of document control, quality records, engineering change documentation, APQP administration, audit support, and related quality processes while driving standardization and continuous improvement.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Quality Administration Operations - 30%

Oversees Quality Assurance Administration activities, including document control, engineering change documentation, APQP documentation, quality records, and related administrative processes to ensure work is accurate, timely, consistent, and aligned with business and Quality Management System requirements.

  1. Quality Management System & Document Control - 25%

Ensures procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and other controlled quality documentation are appropriately maintained and administered in accordance with company procedures, applicable quality standards, customer-specific requirements, and record retention requirements.

  1. Audit & Compliance Support - 15%

Coordinates administrative support for internal, customer, and third-party audits, including preparation and retrieval of required documentation and quality records. Supports resolution of documentation findings and implementation of resulting corrective actions.

  1. Cross-Functional Quality Administration Support - 10%

Partners with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to address documentation and quality record requirements, support implementation of changes, and maintain effective Quality Management System documentation.

  1. Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement - 10%

Identifies and implements opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve Quality Administration processes, including document control, APQP documentation, engineering change administration, and quality record management.

  1. Quality Programs & Technical Administration - 10%

Oversees administrative activities supporting assigned quality programs, including welder qualification and certification requirements and applicable Nadcap Welding documentation. Supports the development and implementation of quality-related training and other Quality Management System initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversees daily operations to ensure standards and service levels are met
  2. Directly supervises team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management
  3. Participates in hiring, onboarding, and training department employees
  4. Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching and feedback
  5. Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  6. Supports employee engagement and retention strategies
  7. Leads implementation of small-scale process improvements to enhance team efficiency and service levels
  8. Monitors and analyzes team performance data to identify trends and inform staffing, workflow, and performance management decisions a numbered list to address the type of supervisory responsibility, if applicable, that is expected from this role.

 

Who You Are

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance, quality systems, document control, manufacturing administration, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory, team leadership, or other relevant experience directing the work of others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience providing direct supervision or leadership of employees preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of Quality Management System principles, document control, and quality record management.
  • Working knowledge of applicable quality standards such as AS9100 and IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • General knowledge of Nadcap requirements applicable to assigned quality programs.
  • Ability to interpret and apply procedures, standards, customer requirements, and quality system requirements.
  • Ability to establish priorities, coordinate workflows, and maintain accuracy across multiple concurrent activities.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Quality, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other business functions.
  • Proficiency with applicable business systems and Microsoft Office applications.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in manufacturing, inspection, and office environments. The role regularly requires presence in production and inspection areas where exposure to industrial equipment, noise, temperature variation, and other manufacturing conditions may occur. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.
  • The position may require schedule flexibility to support manufacturing operations, inspection requirements, audits, employee needs, or quality issues occurring outside normal working hours. Travel between company locations or supplier facilities may be required based on operational needs.
