Job Title:  Packaging Line Lead

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

Department: 
Operations

Reports To:  Production Supervisor Asst., Packaging / Production Supervisor, Packaging


 

Summary: The Packaging Line Lead assists in the oversight of packaging and filling operations. The Line Lead will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a fast-paced and efficient workflow. The Lead will be responsible for coordinating and directing packaging line activities, ensuring quality control standards are met, and motivating team members to achieve production targets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Oversee packaging line activities to ensure smooth and efficient
  • Assign tasks to Packaging Line Technicians and Operators and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor production processes to maintain quality control standards and minimize errors.
  • Train and coach packaging line employees on proper procedures and safety
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify any preventative maintenance or repair needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as compounding and quality control, to optimize production and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and inventory
  • Enforce safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Motivate and encourage team members to meet production targets and performance goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and machinery
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
