WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: The Vice President is a key leader responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, and growth of an assigned business unit. Working closely with executive leadership, this role drives business success, supports exceptional client service, develops future leaders, and fosters strong relationships with public and private sector clients throughout the region.

 Once selected to join our team, you will:        

  • Lead the overall performance, growth, and profitability of the assigned business unit. 
  • Implement budgets, policies, strategies, and goals that support organizational excellence. 
  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and cost management. 
  • Ensure effective allocation of staff and resources to support business objectives and client commitments. 
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, community stakeholders, public agencies, and industry partners. 
  • Ensure exceptional client service and successful delivery of infrastructure, and public improvement projects. 
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and other business units to support strategic initiatives and company growth. 
  • Identify market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and business development initiatives that support growth across public and private sectors. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Directors, managers, and technical professionals within the business unit. 
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement, and talent development initiatives. 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to large healthcare and higher education clients, understanding their unique needs and challenges and tailoring project management and advisory approaches to meet these specific requirements.  
  • Foster strong relationships with clients providing strategic consulting and advisory services, offering insights and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle to optimize project outcomes.   
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve client objectives.  
  • Foster long-term client relationships to ensure continued work and business development opportunities.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering consulting, infrastructure delivery, and professional services operations. 
  • Knowledge of public agency coordination, municipal partnerships, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements relevant to infrastructure and community development projects.
  • Understanding of market trends, business operations, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. 
  • Knowledge of organizational development, leadership succession planning, and talent management strategies.

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills with proven success building high-performing organizations. 
  • Strong client relationship management and business development capabilities. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level influencing skills. 
  • Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and complex organizational initiatives. 
  • Ability to navigate change, solve complex challenges, and make strategic decisions that drive business results. 
  • Commitment to ethical leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 EXPERIENCE:

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within civil engineering, infrastructure consulting, or a related professional services environment. 
  • Significant responsibility for business unit, regional, or organizational performance. 
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and future leaders. 
  • Demonstrated success managing financial performance, strategic growth, and operational excellence. 
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with municipalities, counties, public agencies, and industry stakeholders preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required. 
  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
