We’re looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing aviation and aerospace services group. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build, improve, and strengthen accounting processes—not simply maintain what already exists. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Oversee the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, estimates, intercompany activity, and significant balance-sheet accounts Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP Provide technical accounting guidance on complex and unusual transactions Strengthen accounting processes supporting job costing, WIP, inventory, labor allocation, and project profitability Design, document, and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Partner with operations and finance leadership to improve financial information and visibility into job margins Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing clear accountability and performance expectations Coordinate annual audits, external advisors, tax support, and other accounting-related reporting requirements Partner with the CFO on financial results, accounting risks, budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives WHAT YOU NEED Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Approximately 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful leadership responsibility Strong technical accounting, balance-sheet accounting, U.S. GAAP, and financial reporting knowledge Experience managing monthly and year-end financial close processes Demonstrated ability to independently research and resolve accounting issues Experience leading and developing accounting personnel Demonstrated success implementing or improving accounting processes and internal controls Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE WE VALUE Active CPA license strongly preferred Public accounting experience, particularly Big Four, national, or strong regional firm experience Combination of public accounting and private-industry experience Private-equity-backed or growing middle-market company experience Experience with job costing, inventory, WIP, or project-based accounting Experience implementing or improving ERP/accounting systems and financial reporting processes WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT You are a builder who enjoys creating stronger processes, controls, and accounting infrastructure You can move comfortably between technical accounting, operational accounting, and leadership You take ownership of accounting issues and independently develop practical solutions You have experience developing an accounting team rather than simply managing an established department You are comfortable working in a growing middle-market environment with significant independence AVIATION EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS — NOT A REQUIREMENT We welcome candidates from aviation, aerospace, MRO, manufacturing, industrial services, and other job-costing or project-based environments.
