Position Summary The Barista is responsible for the complete setup, operation, restocking, maintenance, and breakdown of the coffee bar and café area. This position prepares coffee beverages and other menu items according to established recipes, standards, and guest requests while providing warm, sincere, accommodating, and professional service. The Barista maintains a clean, organized, and visually appealing workstation and guest-facing environment while supporting the overall Food & Beverage operation. The ideal candidate is efficient, detail-oriented, service-minded, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide warm, sincere, accommodating, and professional service to all guests. Prepare and serve coffee beverages, specialty beverages, and menu items according to established recipes, standards, and guest requests. Complete the daily setup of the coffee bar and café area. Restock products and supplies throughout the shift and maintain established par levels. Complete daily inventory and accurately prepare and fulfill requisition sheets as required. Prepare mixes and ingredients required for specialty beverages. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and design aesthetic of all guest-facing areas. Complete all required side work, including pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and monthly duties. Maintain working knowledge of all Standard products, including coffee beverages, menu items, and packaged retail goods. Communicate information about Standard beverages and products in an articulate and professional manner. Provide swift, efficient, and consistent service according to drink tickets and guest requests. Identify and immediately report real or potential operational, guest, safety, or service issues to Management. Follow all company, departmental, food safety, sanitation, grooming, and service standards. Break down and reset the coffee bar at the end of the shift. Assist other members of the Food & Beverage team as needed. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Management. Required Skills & Qualifications Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred. Previous experience making coffee or specialty beverages is helpful but not required. Basic knowledge of food and beverage products and menus. Working knowledge of a POS system preferred. Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and established procedures. Excellent command of the English language; multilingual skills are helpful but not required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong guest service and communication skills. Ability to maintain a consistent level of service in accordance with established Standard SOPs. Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, grooming, and personal hygiene standards. Ability to maintain an organized and clean workstation throughout the shift. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to attend mandatory meetings when scheduled. Professional conduct consistent with The Standard, Miami policies, standards, and expectations. Ability to recognize and immediately communicate real or potential problems to Management. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation while performing physical service duties. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. Food Safety & Certification This position requires state-approved certification for safe food handling and alcohol handling.
