We are seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor – Outbound & Inventory Control that will be responsible for leading the Outbound and Inventory Control teams through effective and efficient daily operations. This role ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory integrity, productivity, safety, and a strong team culture that reflects Boston Proper's values and strategic initiatives.

This position sets and monitors productivity standards and KPIs in collaboration with DC leadership to support operational excellence, customer service, and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Operations

  • Manage outbound warehouse leads and associates, monitoring workflows, departmental efficiency, and overall throughput of merchandise.
  • Oversee outbound warehouse processes and procedures, including pick, pack, ship, consolidation, product put away, and RTS workflows.
  • Set and monitor Outbound productivity standards and KPIs in collaboration with DC leadership, including units per hour, order accuracy, shipping accuracy, and on-time shipment rates.
  • Oversee express order processing and carrier cut-off compliance to ensure timely shipment of customer orders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce outbound cycle times, improve shipping accuracy, and optimize labor utilization across picking and packing functions.
  • Monitor and improve outbound productivity, accuracy, throughput, and service levels.
  • Ensure outbound documentation, reporting, and related records are accurate and maintained.

Inventory Control

  • Oversee inventory accuracy and location integrity across all DC storage areas.
  • Manage the ongoing cycle count program, including scheduling, execution, variance resolution, and reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances in the WMS, escalating systemic discrepancies to leadership with root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
  • Enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrink, damage, and product misplacement.
  • Oversee stock adjustment processes and disposition of damaged, unsellable, or misplaced product.
  • Generate inventory accuracy reporting and present findings, trends, and corrective action plans to DC leadership on a regular cadence.

General Management & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Set and monitor productivity standards and KPIs for Outbound and Inventory Control functions in collaboration with DC leadership.
  • Drive daily labor and staffing decisions based on order volume, inventory priorities, business needs, and service requirements.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance against productivity, quality, safety, and accuracy goals.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop leads and warehouse associates.
  • Manage the performance review process and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Foster a safe, flexible, resilient, and positive team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including productivity improvement, process standardization, and labor optimization.
  • Analyze and report operational performance, trends, and issues to DC leadership, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Transportation, Inventory Control, Customer Service, Logistics, and headquarters business partners as needed.
  • Partner with the Director, Distribution & Logistics on planning, staffing, annual budget planning, and budget-related activities as appropriate.
  • Assist with facility support and building maintenance needs assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of distribution center, warehouse, or operations experience, preferably including outbound fulfillment and/or inventory control functions.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams, with demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and develop associates.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with systems such as Excel, Smartsheet, NetSuite, Shopify, Narvar, and WMS platforms preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage workflow for self, team, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to operational excellence.
