Are you a people person with a knack for organization and customer service? We're looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented individual to join our Rural Health Clinic team as a Patient Access Service Representative I (PASER I).
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience while helping keep our clinic running smoothly. From scheduling appointments and verifying insurance to assisting patients with check-in and answering phone calls, you'll be at the heart of patient care before they ever see a provider.Â
What You'll Do
- Welcome patients, visitors, and callers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule appointments and help manage provider schedules.
- Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays and patient balances.
- Assist patients with forms, MyChart access, and general clinic questions.
- Support clinic workflow by routing patient requests and communicating with clinical staff.
- Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance.Â
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior customer service, clerical, retail, banking, call center, medical office, or front-desk experience preferred.
- Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use a keyboard, mouse, email, web-based systems, and multiple screens.
- Ability to learn electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software, insurance eligibility portals, and patient portal tools.
- Strong verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to communicate with patients calmly, respectfully, and professionally.
- Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Dependable, punctual, team-oriented, and willing to be cross-trained.
