Summary of Position

Contributes to store success by ensuring service experience standards are met and always surpassed during the shift.  An additional component of this job is to assist the store manager with daily operating procedures such as maintaining quality store operations, promoting beverage and product sales and supervising associate development. *The Starbucks Supervisor position is with a franchisee; Wellengood Partners, LLC., located at The Westin Memphis Beale Street hotel.  

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains Quality Store Operations.
• Assists store manager in hiring new associates. 
• Coaches’ new hires through their learning.    
• Follows and directs others to follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station. 
• Ensures all company polices, store operating standards and procedures are communicated effectively, maintained, and followed in consistent manner. 
• Organizes work throughout store in a manner that facilitates efficient customer service.
• Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Performs and directs others to complete the cleaning and operational tasks in accordance with the store Duty Rosters.
• Follows and directs others to follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Places orders and performs special projects to assist with shift operations. 
• Assists in store scheduling and adjusts staffing to meet store and business needs.
• Financial Contributions:
  • Contributes to store goals for increasing sales. 
  • Assists store manager with accounting and banking responsibilities. 
  • Records and is accountable for store funds while running a shift.
  • Ensures all cash handling and cash register functions are performed in a accurate and consistent manner. 
  • Maintains some accountability for store operations, associate development and promoting beverage and product sales. 
  • Ensures the proper types and amounts of material, supplies and merchandise are ordered and stocked. 
  • Effectively communicates new product information to associates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in guest service-related environment and/or Starbucks (minimum 1-2 years).
• Supervisory or Lead experience required (minimum 1 year).
• Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to comply with all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests, staff and offer good communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to influence others positively to perform specified work duties. 
• Must have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system, computer, and misc. Food & Beverage equipment, necessary in the preparation of Starbucks products.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food, beverages, misc. items frequently weighing up to 10 to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Must be able to distinguish with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors. 

Schedule

• Sunday through Saturday (various shifts):
  • Starbucks is Open: 5:30am CST to 5:30pm CST
  • Must have availability to work before/after opening/closing
  • Must have flexibility
  • Holidays
• This is full-time role (Minimum of 30+ hours per week).
