BRAZEN RESTAURANT GROUP
Beverage Manager
Bog & Barley | East Memphis, TN | Full-Time, Salaried
Â
Build the bar program you’ve always wanted to run.
Bog & Barley is Memphis’ authentic Irish pub and restaurant on Poplar Avenue — a room built from woodwork and furnishings shipped straight from Ireland, a whiskey collection that draws from around the world, and a kitchen that takes traditional Irish recipes somewhere modern. We’re looking for a Beverage Manager who wants to own that bar: the menu, the numbers, the team, and the guest experience behind it.
This is a true leadership seat, not a head-bartender title. You’ll build and evolve the beverage program, run the vendor and pricing side, train and schedule the front-of-house team, and work alongside the General Manager on the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. As Brazen Restaurant Group grows, so does the runway for the person in this role.
What you’ll do
•   Create the program. Own the cocktail, whiskey, beer and wine lists. Bring what’s working in top markets to Memphis — whiskey flights and pairings, draft and batched cocktails, seasonal spritzes and low/no-ABV options, espresso martini-era crowd pleasers — and make it feel like Bog & Barley.
•   Run the numbers. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, set menu pricing, run weekly inventory and cost reviews, and hit pour-cost and labor targets.
•   Lead the team. Hire, train, schedule and develop bartenders and servers. Build the training that makes every guest interaction feel like a great bartender is behind it.
•   Help run the house. Serve as the GM’s right hand on daily operations — opening and closing, floor leadership, guest recovery, and the events program (whiskey dinners, tastings, private parties).
What you bring
•   3+ years leading a bar or beverage program in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or bar (Beverage Manager, Bar Manager, Lead Bartender with management scope, or equivalent).
•   Real depth in spirits — whiskey especially — plus a working command of beer, wine and cocktail technique.
•   Comfort with the business side: pour cost, inventory, menu engineering, POS and inventory software, scheduling tools, P&L conversations.
•   A coach’s mindset. You’ve trained people, written a schedule that works, and held a standard without losing the room.
•   Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and to be on your feet for a full shift.
What we offer
•   Competitive salary, based on experience.
•   Health insurance and benefits package.
•   401(k) with company match.
•   Paid time off that accrues from day one.
•   A growing, owner-operated group with three Memphis-area concepts (Bog & Barley, Celtic Crossing, Maeve’s Tavern) and room to move up.
