About The Receiving Assistant II receives all shipments, including inventory and non-inventory, as well as services in the Chempax ERP system. Essential Functions Unloads and inspects freight Receives all inventory and non-inventory items in the Chempax ERP system Applies barcode labels to all production raw materials and stages them to the appropriate quarantine location Delivers received items to the appropriate person/location, including R&D and Analytical Matches shipments to the appropriate POs and works with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to resolve any discrepancies/issues to close POs accurately Works with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to receive POs for services Organizes and cleans storage locations and maintains good housekeeping Ensures SDSs are available for all received chemical materials; manages maintenance of current SDS versions in MSDS on-line, and works with Sourcing Manager and EHS to resolve issues Demonstrates a high level of proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Chempax Supports the Shipping Department as needed Assists the Inventory Group with Cylinder or Material inventory Follows detailed instructions without deviation; provides input to management on SOP procedures Completes repetitive tasks with accuracy After receiving BSC training, runs forklift Completes BSC Hazmat training Ships BSC products and raw material returns/empty cylinders from both the Mead and SP locations QualificationsMinimum Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Must be current on all safety and environmental training required for the position Must hold DOT and CFR 49 Hazardous Material shipment certifications Must hold IATA and IMDG certifications Ability to get Forklift certified at BSC’s expense within three months of accepting the job Must have detailed understanding of ERP systems, preferably Chempax Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Ability to drive personal vehicle between site locations Ability to work overtime or weekends as need to support chemical deliveries or requirements Must pass a job-related physical Experience and Skills At least 3 years related experience and/or training, including Receiving, inventory management, or laboratory support Prefer experience working in a similar industry such as chemical manufacturing Experience working with an ERP system to move and transact materials Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working indoor and outdoor, including all weather conditions. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, but in most all circumstances must be able to stand for 6 – 8 hours. per day. The employee will be moving to and from the BSC sites and buildings. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee will expected to wear required PPE.
