POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the Department Director /Supervisor in all daily departmental operations; Performs and oversees Computed Tomography procedures performed in the Radiology Department; Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer; Evaluates all orders, verifies them with radiologist , and ensures the 聽proper exam is performed. Properly screens all patients to ensure there are no contraindications to oral or intravenous contrast media. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions.聽 Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills.聽 Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed.聽 (This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.)
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.聽聽聽聽聽 Must have current BCLS certification.
2.聽聽聽聽聽 5 years prior CT experience.
3.聽聽聽聽聽 Membership in related professional organization preferred.
4.聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of performance standards as outline by the ASRT
5.聽聽聽聽聽 Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS鈥檚 Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1.聽聽聽聽聽 Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology
2.聽聽聽聽聽 Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas
3.聽聽聽聽聽 ARRT Certification (R)
4.聽聽聽聽聽 ARRT certification in CT required

1.聽聽聽聽聽 DIAGNOSTIC
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficient in performing radiologic examinations of extremities, thorax, abdomen, spine, skull exams.聽 Some of these exams may be performed as portables.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Familiarized with utilizing C-Arm
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 BCLS on hire
2.聽聽聽聽聽 CT
5 years experience performing CT procedures
Proficient in IV access
Able to operate a power injector for PICC lines, peripheral lines, and thorough knowledge of CTA procedures
Able to assist radiologist in performing CT guided interventional procedures
Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the appropriate patient care is delivered 聽
Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission and TDH requirements and maintains documentation for these regulating bodies.
