About the Role:

The ER Tech Mid-Flex plays a critical role in supporting emergency department operations by providing timely and efficient patient care assistance under the supervision of medical professionals. This position ensures that patients receive prompt attention and that the emergency room environment is maintained for optimal clinical function. The role requires adaptability to a flexible schedule to meet the dynamic needs of the emergency department, including peak hours and varying patient volumes. The ER Tech Mid-Flex collaborates closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and assist with clinical procedures. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to delivering high-quality emergency care and improving patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as an Emergency Room Technician or relevant clinical certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Previous experience working in an emergency department or acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced certifications such as Certified Emergency Nurse Assistant (CENA) or similar.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Additional training in phlebotomy or EKG monitoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient intake, including vital signs measurement, patient transport, and preparation for examinations or procedures.
• Support clinical staff by setting up and maintaining medical equipment and supplies in the emergency department.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes or concerns promptly to nursing or medical staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the emergency room to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
• Document patient information accurately and assist with administrative tasks as needed to support department workflow.

Skills:

The ER Tech Mid-Flex utilizes clinical skills daily to assist with patient assessments, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for treatment, ensuring accurate and timely data collection. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing medical supplies and maintaining a clean, safe environment that supports efficient emergency care delivery. Effective communication skills enable the ER Tech to collaborate seamlessly with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, facilitating coordinated patient care. Adaptability and problem-solving skills are critical in responding to the unpredictable nature of emergency medicine and fluctuating patient needs. Proficiency with electronic health records and medical equipment enhances the ability to document patient information accurately and support clinical procedures efficiently.
