Michael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Positions open are racking and sorting on potato house line and potato house help
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Â
•Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on truck, tractors and other implements used in potato production.
Â
•Fabricates and equipment which may entail welding, cutting and fabrication.
Â
•Performs emergency repairs on farm equipment.
Â
•Inspects farm equipment daily performing pre-trip inspections.
Â
•Trouble-shoots any repairs electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
Â
•Follows verbal instructions to make repairs to trucks trailers tractors and any farm equipment.
Â
•Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, shop and machinery keeps current inventory of parts for day to day operation.
Â
•Equipment and truck operation as needed cdl required
Â
•Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
Â
•Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
Â
•Record and document all work repairs done on equipment.
Â
•All other duties as assigned.
Â
Qualifications
Knowledge:
Â
•Basic diesel mechanical knowledge required.
Â
•Working fundamentals of troubleshooting PLC’s.
Â
•Basic repair knowledge on potato equipment
Â
•Basic welding Stick and Mig welding.
Â
•Basic knowledge pm maintenance on trucks tractors and implements
Â
•Understanding of basic lock-out, tag-out procedures.
Â
• Requires a good understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Requires judgment to make decisions regarding sequence of maintenance operations
  to be performed within the limits of standard practice.
• Ability to work in somewhat disagreeable conditions, dust, noise, fumes and
  vibrations.
• Ability to work overtime as require

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
  maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older. Previous harvest experience preferred. Must be willing to work
extended and flexible hours during the peak season.

of the time. Must be able to lift weights ranging from 10 to more than 100 pounds under 1/3
of the time.

This position will be exposed to work in high, precarious place, and outdoor weather
