Our 28-bed Medical Surgical unit cares for a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on geriatric patients and those requiring isolation precautions. With negative-pressure capabilities and a variety of patient needs, no two days are exactly the same. What You'll Do
As a Registered Nurse on our Medical Surgical Unit, you'll use your clinical judgment, compassion, and nursing expertise to provide safe, high-quality care to your patients.
You'll:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
Prioritize and coordinate care for assigned patients
Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate members of the care team
Safely perform nursing procedures and follow established standards of care
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members
Delegate and supervise patient care activities appropriately
Provide education and support to patients and their families
Deliver effective handoffs to promote continuity of care
Maintain a safe environment while following infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements
Contribute to quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
Support your teammates and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
Continue developing your nursing knowledge and skills
Must Haves
Minimum:
Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.Â
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.Â
