How you’ll contribute

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who excels in this role will:

·         Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.

·         Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.

·         Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical        facility.

·         Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.

·         Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulances as necessary.

What we’re looking for

An applicant who has successfully completed MDHHS approved EMT course and has a valid Michigan driver’s license.

 

Additional requirements include:

·         Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

·         Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) (Preferred)

·         Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)

·         Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)

·         Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent (preferred)

·         6 months field experience in EMS (preferred)
