Job Overview

Fairview is looking to hire a Housekeeping Aide at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This is a .5 FTE position, approved for 32 hours per pay period, working the evening shift from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This position requires availability to work every other weekend and is represented by SEIU Local 113.

Week 1

  • Tue: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Wed: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Thu: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Fri: 3:00pm - 7:00pm

Week 2

  • Mon: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Fri: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Sat: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Sun: 3:00pm - 7:00pm

 Overview

Provide patients, visitors, and staff a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Cleans all occupied rooms daily to provide a clean, sanitary environment to the patient s.
  • Prepares discharge units and/or surgical procedure and completes end of day cleaning in surgical procedures rooms to provide a clean sanitary environment to the patients.
  • Maintains and clean and attractive areas including maintaining of hard surface and carpeted flooring, cleans offices and public areas, collects, and disposes of refuse.
  • Cleans up after emergency spills and breakage s to prevent exposure to substances that could be safety hazards.
  • Maintains and performs special work assignments and reports to supervisor upon completion to comply with quality and frequency standards in department policy and procedure manual.
  • Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions.
  • Restocks paper supplies upon daily cleaning of area to ensure they are adequately filled and maintains linen distribution system to provide user areas with adequate amounts of linen to give patient care.
  • Mixes, uses supplies and maintains equipment to aid in cost containment and safety
