Position Description: As a CNC Machine Operator Apprentice, you will learn the fundamentals of operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machinery used to manufacture precision aerospace components. This hands-on apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain technical experience under the guidance of skilled machinists and supervisors while completing structured on-the-job training.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Learn to operate CNC milling and turning machines safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Assist with setup and tool changes under supervision.
  • Follow quality and production processes to meet aerospace requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing classroom and practical training as part of the apprenticeship program.
  • Maintain and organize toolroom equipment, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
  • Willingness to learn manual machining techniques and CNC operations.
  • Ability to work with saws, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T and precision measurements.
