The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting stock materials, window and screen assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.

This role performs in-process and final inspections of grids, panels, and other products of varying sizes, shapes, and configurations.

Responsibilities also include inspecting raw materials and work-in-process items for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, cosmetic appearance, operational characteristics, and overall conformity to specifications.

The Quality Control Inspector may also serve as a source inspector as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of stock materials, window and screen assemblies, and finished products.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of grids, panels, and other products of various sizes, shapes, and configurations.
  • Inspect raw materials and work-in-process items for finish, dimensional accuracy, operational characteristics, cosmetic appearance, and conformance to specifications.
  • Verify product compliance using drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts, and tables.
  • Serve as a source inspector as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Three to five years of applicable Quality Control and/or Kalwall experience.
  • Ability to use shop mathematics, including decimals, fractions, formulas, tables, and related calculations.
  • Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specifications, charts, and tables.
  • Sound judgment to determine the application of product specifications to work-in-process materials.
  • Computer literacy and a strong command of the English language, including the ability to compose memos and make presentations to employees, management, and customers.

This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to accurately evaluate product conformance, and a commitment to maintaining Kalwall's quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
