Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing staffing organization. This role will provide leadership across recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, employee management, and workforce operations while ensuring we consistently meet client staffing needs.

The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, and able to lead teams in a fast-paced environment. This position requires someone who can identify problems quickly, create solutions, hold teams accountable, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staffing and workforce operations across multiple markets and client accounts

• Lead and support Recruiting, Onboarding, Scheduling, and operational support teams

• Monitor open job orders and ensure staffing needs are being worked with urgency

• Manage high-volume staffing projects, new account launches, and last-minute client requests

• Track recruiting progress, employee onboarding, placements, starts, call-offs, and staffing gaps

• Ensure employees are properly onboarded and compliant before beginning assignments

• Oversee scheduling processes and ensure clients receive appropriate staffing coverage

• Monitor attendance, call-offs, no-call/no-shows, and employee performance concerns

• Partner with Payroll/Timesheet teams to ensure employee hours are captured and submitted accurately

• Establish clear expectations, workflows, and accountability across operational teams

• Develop and improve SOPs and internal processes

• Track team performance and operational KPIs

• Identify operational challenges and implement solutions

• Handle escalated client and employee concerns

• Work closely with Sales and Account Management to ensure successful delivery of new business

• Communicate staffing risks, progress, and operational needs to senior leadership

• Support multiple priorities and make quick decisions in a constantly changing environment

Qualifications

• 4+ years of operations leadership experience

• Staffing industry experience strongly preferred

• Experience managing recruiting, scheduling, workforce operations, or high-volume hourly employees preferred

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Excellent organization and follow-through

• Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working with ATS, scheduling, payroll, or workforce management systems preferred

• Hospitality, events, food service, healthcare, or light industrial staffing experience is a plus

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes ownership. This is not a position for someone who wants to simply monitor reports or delegate tasks. Our Director of Operations should understand what is happening across the operation, step in when support is needed, and ensure the team follows through.

The right person will be able to balance people, processes, clients, and urgency while helping build an operation that can continue to grow.
