About the Role:
The Alumni Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining strong relationships between the institution and its alumni community across the United States. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic engagement initiatives that encourage alumni participation, support fundraising efforts, and enhance the overall alumni experience. The Alumni Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between alumni, staff, and other stakeholders. By organizing events, managing outreach campaigns, and maintaining accurate alumni records, this role directly contributes to building a vibrant and connected alumni network. Ultimately, the Alumni Coordinator helps to strengthen the institution’s reputation and support its long-term goals through sustained alumni involvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, or a related field preferred
- At least two years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, or community engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with database management and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within higher education or nonprofit organizations.
- Familiarity with alumni management software such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating large-scale events and campaigns.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive alumni engagement programs and events to foster community and support.
- Maintain and update the alumni database to ensure accurate and current contact information.
- Coordinate communication efforts including newsletters, social media, and personalized outreach to keep alumni informed and involved.
- Collaborate with development and marketing teams to support fundraising campaigns and promote alumni contributions.
- Track and analyze alumni engagement metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Plan and manage logistics for alumni events, including reunions, networking sessions, and recognition ceremonies.
- Build partnerships with alumni volunteers and committees to expand outreach and engagement efforts.
