Maintenance Technician -2nd Shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This description summarizes the requirements of a Maintenance Technician. Perform routine work in repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure work areas are clean.
• Addresses maintenance related incidents (e.g. spills).
• Troubleshoots and addresses basic repairs and maintenance including electrical, carpentry, and plumbing.
• Maintain and perform maintenance of building and grounds.
• As needed order supplies, and equipment.
• Estimates repair cost.
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Promote and adhere to all Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
• May train other Maintenance Technicians
• Continually search for cost savings.
• As needed respond to emergency and scheduled maintenance calls.
• Performs work under minimal supervision.
• All other duties as assigned for the successful operation of the facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.   
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• 4-6 years of experience in an industrial setting
• Electrical/Electronic background preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs.  Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.  Must have full use of hands and fingers. There can be times when this job requires walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Job includes working in a manufacturing facility. Job could consist of running machinery or equipment. Must be capable of working independently to perform duties as outlined. Must demonstrate a good safety record and adherence to plant and departmental safety regulations.
