Job Summary
Assists with the day-to-day operation of the Detail Department, providing hands-on leadership and coordinating production, personnel, transfers, and shipping priorities to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily supervision, scheduling, and coordination of Detail Department operations.
- Monitor CNC machines and assist with troubleshooting to maintain production efficiency.
- Verify programs and nests against drawings and mark completed pieces in EPM.
- Maintain accurate production status and coordinate the detail cutting schedule.
- Coordinate shipper lists with Plant Managers to ensure pieces are completed and ready for shipment.
- Monitor the CPL/Kinetic list and communicate production priorities and issues to Plant Managers.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transfers and maintain accurate transfer records.
- Process and coordinate employee transfers in partnership with Plant Management and HR.
- Review employee timecards for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor quality, productivity, attendance, and adherence to safety requirements.
- Coach, train, and provide direction to department employees.
- Communicate with Production, Shipping, Plant Management, and other departments to support workflow and priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required; technical education or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2–4 years of manufacturing, CNC, structural steel, or related experience preferred.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with EPM, SigmaNEST, or comparable software preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy manufacturing environments.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, climbing, and operating equipment.
- Ability to properly wear all required PPE.
