SECURITY OFFICER

The Security Officer protects the property, guests, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitoring: Walk assigned areas of the casino floor and parking lots to deter crime, vandalism, and trespassing. 
• Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.
• Greet guests courteously, answer questions, verify legal age for gaming compliance and de-escalate guests disputes. 
• Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
• Demonstrated ability to follow supervisor/manager instructions promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
• Must be able to obtain and possess a Mississippi Gaming License.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
• Must be tactful, professional, maintain confidence, and foster an ethical work environment.
• Must show respect and be able to adapt to different values, cultures, or backgrounds when dealing with difficult people or situations.  
• Excellent customer service skills. 
• Must be “team centered" and promote a positive work environment.  
• Must work well with other departments and management as necessary.
• High School diploma or equivalent required. 
• Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long shifts.
