The Activities Coordinator coordinates programs involving student health and activities and provides informal counseling to students. The student activities coordinator is also responsible for teaching an introductory course in learning strategies and working with students on an individual basis to improve study skills. Requires minimal supervision.

The Student Engagement and Academic Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success through academic, co-curricular, and community engagement initiatives. This position assists with instructional activities, oversees student programs and organizations, coordinates community outreach efforts, and supports students throughout their academic journey from orientation through graduation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with teaching introductory-level courses and supporting student learning initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for student organizations, fostering engagement, leadership development, and participation.
  • Develop and coordinate community outreach programs and partnerships that create meaningful engagement opportunities for students.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee student outreach activities within the local community.
  • Coordinate and manage student orientation programs, ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new students.
  • Oversee graduation-related processes and activities, helping ensure students successfully complete program requirements.
  • Plan and execute graduation and senior milestone events that recognize and celebrate student achievements.
  • Manage all logistical, administrative, and operational aspects of student engagement programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the overall student experience and promote student success.

 

This role requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a commitment to fostering student engagement, academic achievement, and community involvement.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Counseling, Education, or a related field
  • Academic and vocational counseling experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Counseling, Education, or a related field
  • Experience in counseling high school and college-age students

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
