What you will do:

Serve at the intersection of behavioral health, recovery, and the criminal justice system. We are seeking an experienced, mission-driven therapist to provide high-impact clinical services to individuals involved with the criminal justice system in jail-based and drug court based settings. This role is ideal for a clinician who is confident working with complex mental health needs, co-occurring substance use disorders, trauma histories, crisis situations, and systems-level collaboration. You will help clients stabilize, build insight, strengthen recovery supports, and prepare for safer, healthier outcomes during incarceration and reentry. This is more than a traditional therapy position. You will be part of a cross-system response that recognizes behavioral health care as essential to public safety, recovery, and long-term stability. Your clinical expertise can help reduce crisis cycles, strengthen reentry outcomes, and connect individuals to meaningful support at a critical point in their lives.

Job Duties

  • Provide individual and group therapy for clients with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in a jail setting.
  • Complete clinical assessments, treatment plans, safety planning, crisis intervention, and ongoing documentation.
  • Support clients navigating court involvement, incarceration, probation/parole expectations, reentry planning, and community-based treatment connections.
  • Collaborate with jail staff, medical providers, attorneys, probation/parole, courts, community agencies, and family/support systems when appropriate and authorized.
  • Use evidence-informed approaches such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral strategies, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery-oriented planning.
  • Identify risk factors, protective factors, behavioral health needs, and barriers to successful community reintegration.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical standards, and clinical judgment within a correctional environment.
