This position can be based in Charleston, WV; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Louisville, KY; or Pittsburgh, PA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creative development of core marketing and business development templates, firm ads, branded templates, event materials, digital assets, and other branded pieces that support firm strategy, communicate the firm’s value proposition, and maintain brand consistency across platforms.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling, accessible design solutions informed by research, market trends, stakeholder input, and project objectives.
  • Manage creative projects from concept through execution, including workflows, timelines, feedback cycles, approvals, quality control, budget considerations, vendor coordination, and alignment with firm brand standards.
  • Serve as a primary creative point of contact for internal clients, department leaders, project stakeholders, and cross-functional marketing teams, proactively communicating status, managing expectations, and resolving issues related to scope, timing, or quality. This includes guiding executives through creative project processes to achieve optimal results.
  • Manage the creative team and external creative resources by assigning work, monitoring progress, providing direction, supporting technical development, contributing to performance management, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Ensure organization and upkeep of marketing materials, creative files and catalogs, advertisement and logo submissions, print production, materials inventory, printer bidding, and production vendor management.
  • Make decisions regarding branding costs, including the most effective size and arrangement of illustrative materials and the appropriate style, size, and type of design elements.
  • Make practical production, and design decisions regarding layout, size, style, cost, and use of illustrative materials to support quality, efficiency, accessibility, and brand integrity.
  • Support employee lifecycle responsibilities for direct reports, including recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, workload discussions, documentation of performance, and adherence to firm policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communication design or relevant field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in graphic design, creative services, or related marketing design work; experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, video and audio tools, and other graphic design and multimedia content development tools.
  • Current Mac experience and knowledge.
  • Commitment to handling confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide information clearly, courteously, and tactfully by email, telephone, and in person.
  • Strong proofreading skills and a demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Ability to handle demanding situations and interact diplomatically with stakeholders at all levels in and outside the firm.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, make sound decisions, and apply new concepts.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated leadership, project management, and workflow management skills, including the ability to supervise others, delegate work effectively, manage competing priorities, support team development, and prioritize multiple communication opportunities.
