Position: Facilities Technician


Position Description:

Interested in being a part of a team that maintains a beautiful and inspiring environment for our students and staff? Join Dunn School's Facilities team as a full-time Facilities Technician! We need a skilled and dedicated team member to help maintain and manage campus buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and furnishings. If you have a strong work ethic, a customer service approach, and the ability to work independently, with a team or under the guidance of a supervisor, we want you! Your mission will be to ensure Dunn’s facilities, infrastructure, and equipment are clean, safe, attractive, and functional for our community.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Facilities with all aspects of repair and maintenance of campus infrastructure, grounds, facilities, and equipment

  • Work as a team with the School's other Facilities team members as well as outside vendors and work crews.

  • Assist in coordinating contractors and vendors supplying construction, maintenance, grounds and cleaning services.

  • Manage multiple maintenance and repair work orders and carry them out in a strategic and timely manner. Communicate status of work orders to the Director of Facilities to ensure timely feedback and accountability.

  • Inspect school facilities to ensure they are suitable for safe operations and maintained in an attractive and clean condition.

  • Assist in managing, maintaining, and recommending furniture and equipment related to the operation of the School.

  • Assist with set-up of furniture and equipment for a variety of campus activities and events (graduation, opening day of school, athletic events, admissions open houses, and school programs). 

  • Support the Director of Facilities with community and state agencies, including the water board, police, fire, and health departments to ensure that high standards of health, sanitation, and safety are maintained throughout all of the School’s facilities and grounds.


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a similar or comparable position/job.

  • Experience in multiple construction trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, roofing or general handyman).

  • Experience operating standard equipment and tools for facilities and grounds repair and maintenance in addition to construction projects. 

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and School safety regulations to ensure both a safe working and learning environment.

  • Ability to scope and estimate time and resources needed to complete work orders and projects based on experience.

  • Ability to think creatively, diagnose repair needs, and problem solve

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively and appropriately with members of the School community

Salary and Benefits

This is a full time, year-round, hourly position, which is eligible for Dunn School’s full benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, retirement match up to 7.5%, life/AD&D, long-term disability, tuition remission for admitted and eligible children, and free meals in our dining hall. Dunn pays 100% of employee premiums for medical, dental, life/AD&D, and LTD disability benefits.

The salary range for this position is $22 to $27 per hour. Actual salary will be dependent upon experience, qualifications, and duties.
