Job Description:
The Senior Associate, Facilities Engineer will provide oversight on Contractors and their Subcontractors that come on site to perform work. This oversight is to verify adherence and compliance to all rules, regulations, guidelines and project specifications on a variety of Facilities Projects & Service Contracts (such as facility upgrades & renovations, installation of machinery & equipment, facility maintenance, moves & rearrangements of office, lab and manufacturing functions, etc.) and coordinate those activities with affected departments. This position is first shift, but will be expected to work occasional varying shifts and hours (second shift, pre-first shift, weekends, & holidays) to ensure successful completion of contractor activities.
Essential Functions:
- Oversite & Coordination of service and construction contractors, review and approve work plans, ensure construction is performed per approved plans, codes, and AR Procedures, coordinate job walks, security access, and inspections, maintain project records and photo’s.
- Participate in project planning, design and constructability reviews.
- Perform contractor safety orientations and audits.
- Track open actions and report status to Facilities Project Engineers and Management.
- Provide LOTO (Lockout Tag Out) oversight with external contractors.
- Coordinate facility shut downs.
- Participate in process improvement activities and take action to improve existing processes.
- Review/approve invoices for payment.
- Work cooperatively with multi-functional groups to assist Facilities team in achieving goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior facilities related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior facilities related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior facilities related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- BA/BS degree or accredited certification in the Construction Management field and 5+ years related experience
- High level of Safety and Customer focus.
- Strong skills in teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, customer personnel, outside agencies, Contractors and others in a dynamic changing environment.
- Working knowledge of building codes and OSHA regulations pertaining to construction.
- Ability to support several projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps), as well as a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $70,500 - $130,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
