POSITION SUMMARY

Culinary Tech works under the direction of Kitchen Management to prepare, cook, serve and present a wide variety of dishes for our residential clients. Assists in the maintenance of preparation areas, set up areas, facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.

SCHEDULE: FULL TIME THURSDAY-MONDAY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Exhibit excellent customer service.
  • Self-motivated and reliable.
  • Team oriented with an ability to collaborate with all kitchen and management staff.
  • Demonstrate a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • ServSafe Certified and maintained in good standing.
  • Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs.
  • Have a valid driver’s license in good standing and auto insurance.
  • Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed. Flexibility and adaptability in schedule are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares, cooks, and serves assigned menu items utilizing a variety of kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen including performing general and deep cleaning duties to ensure work areas and all equipment are clean and sanitary; washes, air dries, and puts away equipment, utensils, and appliances; sweeps and mops the kitchen and pantry; ensures compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations. 
  • Help Kitchen Management to plan, create and maintain menus and recipes.
  • Assists in production schedule to determine food requirements including variety and quantity of food for preparation.
  • Assures proper receiving and storage of food items. Properly add labels to all products received. 
  • Meets daily with the Kitchen Management to determine daily meals prep and set-up, and review kitchen needs.
  • Assist with cleaning of all equipment. Reports to management of any maintenance concerns to ensure equipment is properly reviewed and serviced.
  • Ensure all temperature logs are completed daily.
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by Kitchen Management.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
  • Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times. Avoids shortcuts that increase health and safety risks to self or others.
  • Organizes the personal workspace to minimize the likelihood of an accident or other unsafe situation.
  • Fully understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality; monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies.
  • Meet timeliness expectations of completing work as scheduled, demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Meet quality expectations of accuracy, completeness, and responsiveness to feedback.
  • Model appropriate interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and boundaries.
  • Reports any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel.
  • Attend and participate in assigned and required training.
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness and respect for cultural, lifestyle, age, gender, and sexual orientation diversities of clients and staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
