Job Title: Human Resources Generalist  
 Reports To: Vice President For Human Resources 
 FLSA Status: Exempt $65,000 
 Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 9am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4 pm

Location: Onsite 24 Tabor Crossing Longmeadow, MA 01106

Expected Start Date: October 2026


Summary

Glenmeadow is seeking a Human Resources Generalist, who is responsible for supporting and executing core HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and policy implementation. This role serves contributes to a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture. The HR Generalist exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and supports organizational goals through effective human resources practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, including posting job openings, conducting screening interviews, and administrative tasks such as filing, processing onboarding and offboarding paperwork
  • Support training and professional development for employees, including coordinating and facilitating new employee enrollment in Glenmeadow University training and ensuring timely completion of required courses
  • Manage Form I-9 completion and verification for all employees, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts labor laws

Employee Records & HR Administration

  • Maintain changes to employment status and ensure accurate employee data
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS (ADP) and personnel files
  • Process employment verifications and other routine HR documentation

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Assist in the administration of benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee communication
  • Manage and coordinate responses to unemployment and state leave claims, ensuring timely submission and regulatory compliance

Performance Management & Employee Relations

  • Coordinate performance management processes, including evaluations and corrective actions
  • Assist with employee relations matters as needed

Employee Engagement Initiatives, Culture, and Staff Retention

  • Support and reinforce Glenmeadow's Kindness First. Growth Always. culture through daily interactions, initiatives, and employee engagement efforts
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of employee appreciation and engagement initiatives, including Staff Appreciation events, recognition programs, employee celebrations, and other culture-building activities.
  • Help develop and implement initiatives that promote employee connection, morale, recognition, retention, and overall employee experience.
  • in partnership with the Marketing team, support the development and creation of engaging content for Glenmeadow's social media and recruitment platforms that highlights the employee experience, workplace culture, career opportunities, employee accomplishments, and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with developing recruitment campaigns and employment-related communications designed to increase awareness of Glenmeadow career opportunities and attract qualified candidates.

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Participate in policy development, updates, and implementation

Training & Development

  • Support training and development initiatives, including tracking required certifications and continuing education

General HR responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance and Operations leaders to support workforce planning, staffing needs, benefits processes, employee data accuracy, and other HR initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
  • Perform other Human Resources duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and best practices
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Solid understanding of employee relations and conflict resolution practices
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and pivot when needed
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and team members
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to navigate complex HR challenges with a solutions-oriented approach

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology or related field strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of progressive human resources experience
  • Experience with employee relations, recruitment, and compliance required
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR) preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
