This role is not available for any form of immigration sponsorship or support, including completion of the Form I-983 training plan required for STEM OPT. 

The Chemist support the qualitative and quantitative analysis of food and dietary supplement ingredients and products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Once qualified, routinely tests raw materials, bulk, and finished products.

  • Prepares chemical reagents needed to perform routine testing.

  • Performs instrumental analytical testing techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and HPTLC

  • Performs chemical testing techniques such as titration, pH, and allergen ELISA.

  • Performs physical testing techniques such as moisture and water activity.

  • Reviews/issues manufacturing paperwork, analytical department paperwork (data review, SOP updates, etc.), and may be asked to work on other documentation projects and tasks as directed.

  • Aids with chemical tracking and disposal.

  • Cleans and maintains lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment

  • Maintains accurate, legible, and timely records of analytical and physical testing, both manually and with the use of a computer.

  • Recognizes aberrant data, communicates issues to lab management in a timely manner, and troubleshoots equipment and testing issues.

  • Supports training new hires.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience in chemistry or a related field Required

  • 1-3 years related experience Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience Required

  • Experience with HPLC, ICP, and HPTLC Preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and instrumentation used in an analytical chemistry laboratory.

  • Ability to exercise extreme attention to a lot of detail.

  • Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking a situation in order to reveal root causes.

  • Must be able to think and work independently, yet share ideas and work toward team goals.

  • Ability to use a computer required, including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, email and database applications.

  • Ability to express thoughts in a clear concise manner both orally and written is also expected.

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Independently manages daily workflow to align with business priorities; plans multiple work activities with varying deadlines and complexities.

  • Ability to provide technical support to other team members.

  • Troubleshoot and perform some maintenance on instrumentation

National Target Base Pay Range: $53,000.00 - $88,000.00 

The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $59,000.00 - $98,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. 

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws. 

Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.  

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity, to meet the needs of our business. Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
