We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves, and build a better world—together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Do you believe modern order management technology is essential to delivering exceptional customer and dealer experiences? We do! As Ford continues to transform its global order management capabilities, we are building scalable, integrated, and cloud-enabled solutions that connect SAP S/4HANA, dealer-facing channels, legacy order systems, logistics partners, and enterprise platforms. These solutions help ensure the right parts and products reach the right customers at the right time.

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Developer to support the design, development, integration, and operation of SAP S/4HANA order management capabilities. In this role, you will build modern SAP applications and extensions using ABAP Cloud, RAP, SAP Business Technology Platform, and CAP. You will also design and operate enterprise integrations using SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, and Open Connectors.

This role requires strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA development, clean-core extensibility, cloud-native engineering, API design, and enterprise integration. Working closely with product owners, business analysts, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will translate order management business needs into secure, scalable, and reliable technical solutions. You will own quality end to end—from design and development through automated testing, CI/CD delivery, monitoring, performance tuning, and production support.

SAP S/4HANA & RAP Development

  • Design and develop order management extensions and services on SAP S/4HANA using RAP, including managed and unmanaged scenarios, behavior definitions and implementations, draft handling, and business events.
  • Build and maintain productive RAP applications using CDS view entities, projection views, metadata extensions, access controls, and performance-aware data models.
  • Develop solutions using ABAP Cloud and ABAP for Cloud Development, applying released APIs, restricted ABAP language versions, clean-core principles, and extensibility best practices.
  • Evaluate and apply in-app versus side-by-side extensibility approaches based on business requirements, technical constraints, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Translate business requirements related to order entry, availability-to-promise, allocation, pricing, delivery, returns, and billing into robust technical designs.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and the clean-core and extensibility strategy for the Order Management product line.

SAP BTP & CAP Development

  • Build side-by-side extensions and services on SAP Business Technology Platform using CAP with Node.js and/or Java.
  • Develop CDS data models, service definitions, custom handlers, authentication and authorization capabilities, and multitenancy-aware applications.
  • Build SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications, ideally using Fiori Elements and annotation-driven user interface patterns.
  • Use SAP BTP development and runtime capabilities, including Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma, SAP HANA Cloud, Business Application Studio, MTA build and deployment, destination services, and connectivity services.
  • Design and publish secure, versioned OData V2/V4 and REST APIs with appropriate error handling, authentication, authorization, and lifecycle management.

Enterprise Integration & API Management

  • Design, implement, operate, and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, and Open Connectors.
  • Develop and maintain Cloud Integration iFlows using Groovy and JavaScript scripting, mappings, adapters, error handling, and reprocessing patterns.
  • Build integrations between SAP S/4HANA, Ford legacy order systems, dealer-facing channels, third-party logistics providers, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Apply integration patterns using IDoc, SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, JMS, Kafka, BAPI, RFC, PI/PO, and related technologies.
  • Design API proxies and policies that support rate limiting, OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, SAML, JWT, and other enterprise API security requirements.
  • Implement event-driven integration designs using SAP Event Mesh or Advanced Event Mesh, including asynchronous, idempotent, and business-event-driven patterns.
  • Support modernization of legacy SAP integration technologies and migration toward scalable cloud-native integration approaches.

Engineering Quality, DevOps & Production Support

  • Own solution quality end to end, including unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, performance tuning, monitoring, release management, and production support.
  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows and technologies such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Apply automated testing practices using ABAP Unit, CAP test frameworks, iFlow testing, and related quality-engineering tools.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, authorization, data-protection, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor application and integration health using observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, SAP Cloud ALM, or comparable platforms.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions to improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, API contracts, integration specifications, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to raising SAP engineering standards, development practices, and technical capabilities across the team.

We recognize that no one person will embody every single quality or skill listed below. If you are passionate about SAP engineering, cloud integration, enterprise order management, and building high-quality solutions that enable Ford’s transformation, we encourage you to apply.
