About the Role:
WE SUPPORT YOU LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Little Ferry, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
- Encourage skill-building and promote independence in daily activities
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
- Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved techniques and protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, home health aide, or in a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to person-centered care
