SUMMARY: This role providestier 1 or 2 technical support through quality customer service via Phone, Email, Remote Session, or in person to users of the company's electronic devices accessing the network, systems, applications, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (include but not limited to):

  • Perform daily subsidiary (NSE/SEE) checks to ensure system health and functionality.
  • Check BRMS daily and on weekends to make sure backups run correctly.
  • Ensure there are no printing issues and administer AdaptIO.
  • Check the SAN boxes (PROD and HA) daily to ensure disk-to-disk replication is normal.
  • Administer and maintain (clean) the tape drive as needed for proper tape usage.
  • Maintain and keep tapes in rotation order in the vault and in the storage cases in Talladega.
  • Every other weekend, perform GCCS system checks to make sure systems are ready for Monday.
  • Provided on-call support every other week for any issues with IBM I server and hardware.
  • Provide support for Laptops, Desktops, and Tablets.

PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS (to include but not limited to): Set up devices or printers as needed for NSE systems.

  • Reset user passwords on the GCCS system.
  • Take tapes offsite to Talladega as per backup strategy for Disaster Recovery (twice a week).
  • Assist with any SOX-related evidence in Active Directory when necessary to supply to auditors.
  • Perform Failover tests during shutdown or as necessary for both NSE and SEE.
  • Restore files/data from tapes as needed for Honda-requested purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience administering Desktops, laptops, and Tablets
  • Experience administering printers

  • The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move printers and/or monitors (up to 40 pounds)
  • While performing the duties of this position, the Associate is regularly required to bend, stand, walk, talk, and/or hear.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Work overtime as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
  • Occasionally required to perform work on the production floor in a non-climate-controlled environment.
