We offer the following:  FREE Healthcare HSA option Dental Vision Life Insurance Dependent & Spouse Life Insurance Short Term & Long-Term Disability Critical Illness & Accident coverage 401K plan with company match Referral Bonus  Annual college scholarship available for children & grandchildren of PTC employees  Tuition Reimbursement eligibility     Job Summary:     Performs various duties such as checking in trucks, inspect trucks before they enter the campus, examining credentials, registering visitors, receiving and transmitting telephone calls, give directions to the plant, in plant rounds by registering at clock key stations and reporting observations, and supervises Plant Guards.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Provides Plant Guard personnel with information as required. Writes up traffic and incident reports, showing time in and out of commercial trucks entering and leaving plant area with such information as commercial name of driver, trucking company, license number, etc.   Directs visitors and truckers to various parts of grounds or buildings.   Check credentials or approved roster before admitting anyone, admits only those authorized.  Opens gates to allow entrance or exit of employees, truckers, and authorized visitors.   Inspects outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products. Also make sure the loads are completely covered with a tarp.   Inspects outgoing chemical trucks to ensure they are in compliance with Federal and State regulations and company procedures for transportation of hazardous waste.   Requires passes from employees issued by the Manager, Personnel & Labor Relations, or his designated representative, or the Labor Foreman for tools or materials taken from premises.  Requires passes issued by a supervisor from employees leaving work at times other than shift change time. Receives and transfers telephone calls and answers telephone and transfers calls when switchboard is closed.  Ability to receive and transfer telephone calls from overseas, in-country and emergency calls with a working knowledge of the plant operation and all departments.  Records telephone calls of absent workers on standard form.  Notifies department/foreman. Tours plant on scheduled rounds, recording time with key and observing and reporting any unusual conditions such as fire, fire hazards, theft, trespassers, safety hazards, etc. Performs various scheduled checks of plant areas/items such as, fire extinguishers, water valves, parking lots, bulletin boards, monthly fire extinguishers, daily mail run to the post office and back.  In cases of theft, identifies perpetrator, reports incident, summons city police, recovers company property, if possible, serves as witness in court if required. Raises and lowers flag on special occasions as required. Presents a neat and orderly personal appearance. Directs traffic at gatehouse and parking lots as required. Coordinates with traffic department on registering/directing inbound/outbound trucks. Utilizes computer terminal as required.  Microsoft Office, Outlook Express, and in-house computer programs. Use provided equipment to monitor severe weather. Plant Guard will activate Emergency Alarm System. Performs first aid and CPR as required in emergencies in Plant Dispensary and Plant general. The guard will also be trained in Urine drug testing for incidents into the plant. The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed. Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:   High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and completion of police academy or military police training preferred, or 1 year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.    Number of Direct Reports:       3 to 5                               Job Titles of Direct Reports:  Plant Guard   Skills and Abilities:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfac­torily. Walking for rounds is a physical demand, the rounds could take in excess of 25 minutes and require over 300 steps to be climbed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch, and smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
