Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Painter, you will prepare, paint, and restore facility surfaces, creating a safe, clean, and professional environment.Every day you'll meticulously prepare surfaces, apply finishes, perform minor repairs, and maintain a safe, clean workspace with minimal disruption.To succeed, you need strong technical painting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and independently in a sensitive healthcare setting.
  • Inspects the facility for areas in need of paint or surface repair; identifies the need for painting project and plans, as appropriate.
  • Prepares time estimates for remodel projects. Meets with requester to discuss in more detail the colors and textures preferred and specialty finishes maintaining hospital color standards.
  • Selects appropriate materials for the job such as, brushes, rollers, and texturing tools such as sponges. Determines the type of paint and/or material that can/cannot be used in patient areas.
  • Matches colors and mixes paint when necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Performs all necessary preparation work to surfaces.
  • Power washes exterior surfaces to remove dirt and insect residue; washes walls to remove dirt, fingerprints, grease and smoke, and they fill any cracks and nail holes before painting.
